Install

1. Close 3ds Max. If it is running, the file may not copy completely and the plugin will not load.
2. Copy the downloaded .dlo file into the plugins folder, usually C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2026\plugins\ — with your version instead of 2026. You can keep the file name as it is.
3. Start 3ds Max. The object appears under Create → Geometry → SplineGround.

If you keep plugins in a folder of your own, add that folder in Customize → Configure System Paths → 3rd Party Plug-Ins instead of copying the file.

Start the trial

Create a SplineGround object, open the License rollout and press Start 14-day Trial. You need to be online: the plugin gets a trial license for this computer and is ready to use right away. No watermarks, no limits.

After 14 days Generate Surface stops working until you enter a license key. Everything you have already built and collapsed stays yours. The trial can be started once per computer.

Activate your license

In the same rollout, paste the key from your purchase e-mail into License Key and press Activate. The key works on one computer; you can also install it on a laptop, as long as you only use one of them at a time.

Moving to a new computer? Press Deactivate on This Computer on the old one, and the key can then be activated on the new one.

Updates

Check for Updates in the License rollout checks for a new version and brings you to this page. The version history above shows what changed in each one. Enter your license key and the versions your update period includes are marked, and you can download any of them. Versions released after the period ends won’t run with this license.

Uninstall

Close 3ds Max and delete the .dlo file from the plugins folder. That is all.

If something does not work

Write to us and attach the scene, if you can share it, plus the log file SplineGround-debug.log. To find it, paste %LOCALAPPDATA%\SplineGround\logs into the File Explorer address bar and press Enter. That is usually enough for a quick answer.
